While an important objective of the reviews is to update item weights, formal reviews also provide an opportunity to examine the scope and coverage of the index and other methodological issues. An information paper: Issues to be considered during the 16th Series Australian Consumer Price Index Review (cat.no. 6468.0) will be published on 15 December 2009. It will outline some of the major issues to be considered in the review, as a basis for public consultation. Public seminars will also be held in capital cities in early 2010. The closing date for submissions to the review is 12 March 2010. ROUNDING Any discrepancies between totals and sums of components in this publication are due to rounding.
