ABOUT THIS RELEASE

Presents results for Victoria from the 2002 National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Survey (formerly Indigenous Social Survey), which brings together a wide range of information about the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population in Australia. Topics include culture and language, family and community, health, housing, education, employment, income, financial stress, transport and mobility, as well as crime and justice. It provides an overview through commentary and summary tables for different population groups and themes. More detailed information are presented in cross classified tables. The publication provides a range of information at the national level with an emphasis on comparisons with the non-indigenous population where possible. Some time series information, as well as information at a state/territory level, is also provided.
