BUSINESS STRUCTURE AND ARRANGEMENTS
Overall, almost one in ten businesses (9%) reported at least one type of collaborative arrangement during the year ended 30 June 2015. More than one in four businesses with 200 or more persons employed (26%) reported a collaborative arrangement, compared to 6% of businesses with 0-4 persons employed.
By industry, Mining had the highest proportion of businesses that reported at least one type of collaborative arrangement (18%). The highest proportion of businesses that were involved in joint production of goods or services was in the Information media and telecommunications industry (10%). The Arts and recreation services and Retail trade industries had the highest proportion of businesses that were involved in joint marketing or distribution (both 8%).
The proportion of innovation-active businesses that reported any collaborative arrangements (15%) was almost four times more than non innovation-active businesses (4%).
