ABOUT THIS RELEASE

This booklet is primarily intended for middle school students (Years 9 and 10) of mathematics and information studies. It deals with issues such as data collection, information use and society, measures of the mean, median and mode, and presenting data graphically. This edition is very similar in content to the first edition but makes use of data from the 1996 Census of Population and Housing.

Note: The 1996 issue is an update to the edition released in 1994. No supplementary set of data are provided with the Second Edition.
