TREND ESTIMATES
  • From November 2004 to November 2005 the number of public sector employees increased by 37,100 (2.3%) to 1,618,700.
  • In the same period the number of employees increased in state government by 2.4%, Commonwealth government by 2.2% and local government by 2.1%.
