DWELLING UNITS APPROVED STATE TRENDS The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in New South Wales rose 0.5% in May 2009 following falls in the previous 16 months. The trend estimate for the number of private sector houses rose 3.5% and has risen for the last four months. VICTORIA The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in Victoria rose 0.3% in May and has risen for six months. The trend estimate for the number of private sector houses rose 2.2% and has risen for six months. QUEENSLAND The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in Queensland rose 2.7% in May and has risen for three months. The trend estimate for the number of private sector houses rose 1.9% and has risen for three months. SOUTH AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in South Australia fell 0.1% in May following increases in the previous four months. The trend estimate for the number of private sector houses rose 0.2% and has risen for five months. WESTERN AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in Western Australia rose 1.8% in May and has risen for the last four months.
