Main Features Building Approvals Dwelling Units Approved, State Trends About this Release History of Changes Dwelling approvals rise 0.7 per cent in October (Media Release)	BUILDING APPROVALS NUMBER OF DWELLING UNITS The trend estimate for Australia rose 0.7% in October. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 0.9% to 19,074 dwellings. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector houses approved rose 0.6% in October. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 1.5% to 10,063 houses. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR DWELLINGS EXCLUDING HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector dwelling units excluding houses rose 0.8% in October. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 1.0% to 8,683 dwellings. VALUE OF NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of new residential building approved rose 0.7% in October and has risen for 10 months. VALUE OF ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of alterations and additions to residential building rose 1.1% in October and has risen for six months.
