SURVEY PROGRAM REVIEW - ENVIRONMENT AND AGRICULTURE

We, at ABS, want you, the great Australian public, to give us feedback on how we should be doing things in regard to our surveys.

On 10 October 2011, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) released the publication, Discussion Paper: Environment & Agriculture Survey Program Review, 2011 -12 (cat. no. 7105.0.55.001) This discussion paper aims to provide context for the Environment and Agriculture Survey Program Review and to invite feedback from the community to assist in developing the Environment and Agriculture Survey Program into the future.

The 2011 review of the Environment and Agriculture Survey Program is driven by the need to assess the relevance of the current program in light of changing stakeholder requirements, environment and agriculture policy direction and the need for continuous improvement to achieve efficiency gains. To remain relevant, the ABS must not only accommodate user needs and priorities but also have the flexibility to quickly respond to emerging issues.

ABS encourages all interested individuals, organisations and departments to provide feedback during the consultation phase of the Review and are happy to extend the submissions beyond the 30 November 2011 deadline. Please refer to the discussion paper for more information on how to raise a query and/or submit feedback.

So, if you have something to offer, now is the time to do it! Details of the consultation process and how to provide feedback are shown in the Discussion Paper (see link in paragraph 2 above).
