PER CAPITA TAXATION

In 2010–11, taxation per capita was $15,944, an increase of 6% from 2009–10.

The Commonwealth Government taxation per capita rose 6% from $12,072 in 2009–10 to $12,833 in 2010–11.

The average taxation per capita for state and local governments combined in 2010–11 was $3,136, an increase of 5% from $2,983 in 2009–10.

All states recorded an increase in taxation per capita except for the Northern Territory which recorded a decrease (4%) and Tasmania which was unchanged. The Australian Capital Territory recorded the highest percentage increase in taxation per capita rising 8%.
