PLANNED CHANGES TO THE PUBLICATION
The ABS is reviewing the Government Financial Estimates (GFE) publication with the potential for (a) the cessation of the publication or (b) the removal from future release of the current spreadsheets (datacube) on the Downloads tab of the ABS website. The spreadsheets provide detailed data for the All Levels of Government Operating and Cash Flow Statements and the State Government Operating and Cash Flow Statements; as identified in the Main Features, this information is also available from the websites of the commonwealth and individual state jurisdictions. Under option (b), the three tables in the Main Features section presenting key aggregates would remain.
Submissions to the review should address the requirement for the continued release of the GFE publication and the datacube specifically. Submissions should be sent to the ABS at <public.finance@abs.gov.au> by Friday 31 October 2014.
A decision on the future of the GFE publication will be announced with the release of the datacube on Tuesday 18 November 2014.
