The publication Australian Outward Finance and Insurance Foreign Affiliate Trade, 2009-10 (cat. no. 5485.0) will be released on 27 June 2011. This publication will present details of the activities of the foreign affiliates of Australian resident finance and insurance businesses. The details include number of affiliates and their employment by country and by industry, and sales and purchases of services.
PROPOSED CHANGES TO STATISTICAL CODES IN THE CUSTOMS TARIFF (HARMONIZED TARIFF ITEM STATISTICAL CODE (HTISC) 2012)
The Information paper: Proposed changes to statistical codes in the HTISC, 2012 (cat. no. 5368.0.55.016) was released on the ABS website on 13 May 2011. This information paper presents the proposed Customs Tariff statistical structure for use from 1 January 2012. Changes to the Customs Tariff result from the introduction of the five yearly review conducted by the World Customs Organisation and the ABS review of statistical codes. This paper enables users of detailed merchandise trade import statistics to review and comment by 17 June 2011 on proposed changes to statistical codes.
