CHANGES IN THIS AND FORTHCOMING ISSUES

CHANGES IN THIS ISSUE

PRELIMINARY QUARTERLY VOLUME AND PRICE ESTIMATES

Preliminary estimates for the quarterly goods import volume measures and implicit price deflators which were previously released every third issue of this publication will no longer be available. These estimates will now be released in a new electronic publication, Balance of Payments - Goods and Services, Preliminary Quarterly Estimates (cat. no. 5302.0.55.004), to be introduced on 27 November 2012, one week before the release of the publication Balance of Payments and International Investment Position, Australia (cat. no. 5302.0). This publication will include preliminary quarterly estimates of the current price balance on goods and services and preliminary quarterly estimates of chain volume measures and price indexes for goods debits.

AMENDMENT OF CONFIDENTIALITY RESTRICTION

A change has been made to a confidentiality restriction released in the International Merchandise Trade: Confidential Commodities List, Sep 2012 (cat. no. 5372.0.55.001) initially released on 9 October 2012. The confidentiality restriction on exports commodity code 17011400 'Raw cane sugar (excl. that specified in Subheading Note 2 to Chapter 17), in solid form, not containing added flavouring or colouring matter' will continue as 'No commodity details' rather than be amended to 'No country details' and 'No state details' as advised in the initial release. A revised version of International Merchandise Trade: Confidential Commodities List, Sep 2012 (cat. no. 5372.0.55.001) was released on 24 October 2012 and is currently available on the ABS website. This change does not impact on statistics in this publication.
