Changes in the September quarter 2005 issue.

The following tables and spreadsheets have changed in structure since their previous release. Tables 23, 37, 38 and 39 also have these changes reflected in the pdf file. A more detailed explanation of these changes (from a statistical point of view), as part of the overall process of updating our annual benchmarks, was recently published as a feature article titled "Updated National Accounts Annual Benchmarks" in Australian System of National Accounts, 2004-05 (Cat. no. 5204.0).

1) Agricultural income.

1.1) "Intermediate input costs" are now clearly identified.
1.2) "Subsidies" are no longer separately provided.
1.3) "Gross agricultural value added" is now provided at producers' prices, and at basic prices.
1.4. "Gross agricultural product at market prices" and "Agricultural factor income" is no longer provided.


2) General government income.

2.1) The components of "Secondary income receivable / Current taxes on income, wealth, etc / Income tax from / Individuals"
"Net tax instalments", and

are no longer supplied. Only "Total income from individuals" is now supplied. Please refer to table 39 (Taxes, Current prices: Trend and seasonally adjusted) and table 72 (Taxes, Current prices: Original) for a complete break-down of taxes data.


3) Taxes.

3.1) "Fringe benefit taxes" are now included under "Taxes on income / Individuals".
3.2) "Sales taxes" are now provided, and includes data from 2000/01 relating to the wine equalisation tax (WET) and the luxury car tax (LCT).

4.1) Further breakdown of "Private gross fixed capital formation / Business investment / Machinery and equipment" is now provided, in both current price and chain volume terms.
The new split is:

4.2) Further breakdown of "Private gross fixed capital formation / Business investment / Non-dwelling construction" is now provided, in both current price and chain volume terms.
The new split is:
"New building"
"New engineering construction"
"Net purchases of second hand assets"

While trend estimates for "Net purchases of second hand assets" are catered for, these series will contain no estimates as there is no discernible long-term trend.

4.3) The aggregate "Private final demand" is now provided.
