GROUND COVER MONITORING



In 2012-13:

  • Approximately three-quarters of all agricultural businesses in Australia reported having land used mainly for grazing on their holding (around 97,400 agricultural businesses). Of these, 54% reported that they monitored ground cover levels.
  • The most common method for monitoring ground cover by agricultural businesses was visual estimates, with 95% of businesses reporting using this method.
