Spirits and Ready to Drink (pre-mixed) beverages
The quantity of alcohol available for consumption in the form of spirits (excluding RTDs) increased by 0.7% between 2008–09 and 2009–10, from 22.9 million litres to 23.0 million litres.

At the same time the quantity of alcohol available for consumption in the form of RTDs decreased by 1.9%. This continues, at a slower rate, the change in trend shown in the previous year, when the amount of alcohol available for consumption from RTDs decreased 30.2% (from 18.7 million litres in 2007–08 to 13.1 million litres in 2008–09) (Table 6).
