Datacubes of NSSC Apparent Rates, including Continuation, Participation and Progression, are included in this release.

Revision of these student engagement tables has incorporated figures in the recent publication of the Estimated Resident Publication (ERP) for Total Populations (ABS cat. no. 3101.0).

The datacubes are:

NSSC table 60a Specific Age Apparent Progression Rates (SAAPR) 1998-2012

NSSC table 61b School Participation Rates (SPR) 2006-2012

NSSC table 62a Apparent Continuation Rates (ACR) 2007-2012

NSSC table 65a Apparent Progression Rates (APR) 1998-2012

NSSC table 66a School Participation Rates for Students Aged 6-17 Years, 2006-2012.

The datacube, NSSC Table 46a: Students (FTE) by MCEECDYA Remoteness Indicator, 2011 and 2012, was revised to address anomalies in the data:

replacement of 2012 data for non-government schools in Victoria

replacement of 2012 data for government schools in Western Australia

addition of a 'not stated' category in the MCEECDYA Remoteness Classification field to account for postcodes that are not part of the MCEECDYA concordance information

inclusion of 'not stated' data for government schools in Victoria

adjustment of the 2012 metropolitan component of government schools in South Australia

adjustment of the 2011 and 2012 metropolitan and provincial components of government schools in Tasmania.

Clause 17 of the Explanatory Notes was amended to clarify the Year 7 circumstances in Western Australia and Queensland.

Commentary on the Apparent Retention Rates (ARR) was appended to the commentary on student numbers, previously released on 6 February 2013.
