Leaving Australia forever?
This article looks at the characteristics of people who, upon leaving Australia, state that they are departing permanently.

Women in leadership
This article examines the representation of women in leadership positions in government, and across the private and public sectors. Also examines the barriers some women face in obtaining these positions, and initiatives being put in place to address gender inequality at that level.

Older carers
This article focuses on the characteristics of people aged 65 years and over who provide some level of care to others with a disability, long term health condition, or is elderly.
People identified as having dementia or Alzheimer's disease
This article discusses the characteristics of people identified as having dementia or Alzheimer’s disease in the 2009 Survey of Disability, Ageing and Carers. It also includes information on hospitalisations and deaths attributed to these diseases.

Australian Social Trends includes national and state summary indicator sets across several broad areas of social concern. Three of nine indicator sets were released in December 2012. You can download all the Excel spreadsheets below. Please note: AST work indicators are to be released in February 2013.
