TOTAL DWELLING UNITS
  • The trend estimate for total dwellings approved rose 1.8% in March and has risen for 10 months.
  • The seasonally adjusted estimate for total dwellings approved rose 2.8% in March following a fall of 1.6% in the previous month.


PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSES
  • The trend estimate for private sector houses approved rose 0.2% in March and has risen for four months.
  • The seasonally adjusted estimate for private sector houses rose 1.1% in March and has risen for two months.


PRIVATE SECTOR DWELLINGS EXCLUDING HOUSES
  • The trend estimate for private sector dwellings excluding houses rose 3.6% in March and has risen for 10 months.
  • The seasonally adjusted estimate for private sector dwellings excluding houses rose 5.3% in March following a fall of 3.0% in the previous month.


VALUE OF BUILDING APPROVED
  • The trend estimate of the value of total building approved rose 0.9% in March and has risen for nine months. The value of residential building rose 2.5% and has risen for 12 months. The value of non-residential building fell 2.8% and has fallen for four months.
  • The seasonally adjusted estimate of the value of total building approved rose 6.2% in March following a fall of 18.1% in the previous month. The value of residential building rose 5.6% following a fall of 2.7% in the previous month. The value of non-residential building rose 8.0% following a fall of 42.9% in the previous month.
