AUSTRALIAN SOCIAL TRENDS: STATE SEMINAR SERIES
The 15th edition of Australian Social Trends (AST) was released on 23 July 2008. AST aims to provide a snapshot of particular aspects of Australian society and how things have changed over time by presenting a wide range of articles about topical social issues.
Following the release of AST 2008, seminars were presented by Dr Paul Jelfs (Assistant Statistician, Social Analysis and Reporting Branch), and Linda Fardell (Director, Social and Progress Reporting), in each state and territory. The seminars draw on analysis from a number of articles in the 2008 edition, including 'Towns of the mineral boom', 'Complementary therapies' and 'Internet access at home' as well as highlighting trends in population, family and community, health, education, work, economic resources and housing.
