Wheat is grown mainly in the western and north western areas of Victoria, with the greatest production from the Mallee and Wimmera Statistical Divisions (SDs). In 2006-07, production was 879,000 tonnes.

In 2006-07, 52.0% of all wheat produced in Victoria came from the Mallee SD (460,000 tonnes). This was followed by the Wimmera SD, with 24.0% (209,000 tonnes).
