A variety of fruit crops are produced in Western Australia including apples, grapes, olives and pears. Apples are the principal fruit crop. In 2006-07, the four most common varieties of apples produced in Western Australia were:

  • Cripps Pink (10,600 tonnes)
  • Granny Smith (7,800 tonnes)
  • Gala (5,100 tonnes)
  • Cripps Red (2,600 tonnes)

In 2006-07, 77% of all apples produced in Western Australia came from the South West Statistical Division (24,600 tonnes).

In 2006-07, there were 12,200 hectares of bearing vines in Western Australia with a further 900 hectares planted but not yet bearing fruit. A total of 72,400 tonnes of grapes were produced with over 94% grown for winemaking. In 2006-07, 66% of all grape production in Western Australia came from the South West Statistical Division (47,800 tonnes).
