In 2006-07, wheat production in Tasmania was 17,700 tonnes. Wheat is grown mainly in northern areas of Tasmania with over 64% of all wheat produced in 2006-07 coming from the Northern Statistical Division (11,400 tonnes).

In 2006-07, Tasmanian farmers produced 16,200 tonnes of barley. Over 69% (11,200 tonnes) of all barley produced in Tasmania came from the Northern Statistical Division.
