About this Release	The purpose of this paper is to outline ABS views on what a future Australian Transport Satellite Account (TrSA) might look like and to seek user feedback on these views. It provides background to ABS research on the topic, explains the concept of a satellite account, and describes the expected benefits resulting from the availability of such an account. A theoretical framework is presented, followed by ABS views on the scope that may be practical to implement in the short to medium term, given data sources, measurement difficulties and resource constraints. Currently, the ABS does not have the resources to produce a comprehensive TrSA, so additional resources would need to be made available to produce one.
