There were an estimated 37,400 businesses with agricultural activity in Victoria at 30 June 2007.

Beef cattle farming was the most common farming activity with just over 10,000 businesses in Victoria mainly engaged in this activity.

Dairy cattle farming and sheep farming were the next most common activities, and together made up 26% of businesses with agricultural activity in Victoria.
