ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS AND INQUIRIES

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

ABS publications draw extensively on information provided freely by individuals, businesses, governments and other organisations. Their continued cooperation is very much appreciated: without it, the wide range of statistics published by the ABS would not be available. Information received by the ABS is treated in strict confidence as required by the Census and Statistics Act 1905.

Data used in this publication was provided by the National Centre for Vocational Education and Research and the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority and the ABS gratefully acknowledges their co-operation and technical advice. Special thanks go to Paul Foley at the National Centre for Vocational Education and Research, and Leanne Christy at the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority.

This project was partially funded in 2013-14 through the former Strategic Cross-Sectoral Data Committee for Early Childhood, Education and Training, to which the Australian Government Department of Education, the ABS, and each of the states and territories previously contributed to. This committee, which previously operated within the COAG Education Council governance structure, was responsible for supporting improvements to cross-sectoral education and training data and facilitating measurement of learning over the life-course through data sharing and data integration. This committee was disbanded in September 2014.
This paper was prepared in the ABS National Centre for Education and Training Statistics. The principal author and researcher was Philip Witowski.

The author would like to thank the ABS National Centre for Education and Training Statistics National Data Centre, the ABS Data Linkage Centre, and ABS Analytical Services. Special thanks go to Luke Verghese, Myles Burleigh, Regina Kraayenbrink, Noel Hanson, Brendan Kelly, Bradley White, and Bindi Kindermann.
