Four varieties of grapes accounted for 65% of all production: chardonnay (119,000 tonnes), shiraz (78,000 tonnes), cabernet sauvignon (39,200 tonnes) and semillon (40,400 tonnes). White grape production (251,000 tonnes) exceeded red grape production (178,000 tonnes).
