For each identified collection, the directory provides information on the method of collection, data details, geographic coverage, frequency of data availability, and products and services available, to help the reader identify the type of statistics available and how to access them. The directory provides useful indexes to help find the information about specific collections.

This is the final release of this product. Further information on Australian transportation data collections can be found at the Transport Metadata Portal. This website aims to:

• improve awareness of available data and how these data can be accessed;
• provide information about these data sets in the form of a Metadata Statement;
• allow users to identify if the data is relevant for their needs.
